The KS-23 is a Soviet pump-action shotgun and the largest-caliber production shotgun ever manufactured. It is a unique firearm because, under Soviet GOST standards, any weapon with a caliber exceeding 20 mm is officially classified as light artillery. The most remarkable feature, however, is its barrel. To reduce manufacturing costs, rejected barrels intended for 23 mm aircraft cannons were repurposed, proving perfectly suitable for firing less powerful ammunition. Within the Zone, the KS-23 is the ultimate big-game stopper, built to bring down targets that ordinary shotguns simply cannot.
